Refund policy

Last updated: 4 March 2026

Bodies of Solace operates on a made-to-order and small-batch production model. Each garment is created intentionally and in limited quantities. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

Made-to-Order Pieces

As most garments are made to order upon purchase, refunds are not offered for change of mind.

Please review all sizing information carefully before placing an order. If you are unsure about sizing, get in touch prior to purchasing and guidance will be provided.

Custom Pieces

Custom orders and made-to-measure pieces are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund unless the item is faulty.

Exchanges (Sizing)

Exchanges for sizing adjustments may be offered subject to the following conditions:

  • Contact must be made within 7 days of receiving the order.
  • The item must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition.
  • All original tags must remain attached.
  • The garment must show no signs of wear, scent, makeup, damage, or alteration.
  • The item must be returned in its original packaging to ensure it is protected in transit.
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
  • Once the returned item is received and inspected, confirmation will be provided as to whether an exchange is approved.

As pieces are made to order and produced in limited quantities, exchanges remain subject to availability and production capacity.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

If an item is believed to be faulty, damaged, or incorrect, contact must be made within 7 days of receiving the order.

Under New Zealand consumer law, customers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if a product does not meet reasonable quality standards or is not as described.

If an issue is confirmed:

  • A repair, replacement, or refund will be offered as appropriate.
  • Reasonable return shipping costs will be covered.

This does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, improper care, accidents, or misuse.

Repairs

Bodies of Solace pieces are created to be kept, worn, and passed down. Offering repairs forms part of a commitment to longevity, care, and considered craftsmanship.

If a garment develops an issue related to workmanship or construction within a reasonable timeframe, it will be assessed and repaired at no cost where appropriate.

If damage occurs through wear, care, or external factors, repair services may be offered at discretion and at a reasonable cost.

Ready-to-Wear or One-of-One Pieces

Occasionally, ready-to-ship or one-of-one garments may be available.

Unless otherwise stated, the same return conditions apply. Change-of-mind refunds are not available. Exchanges may be considered in accordance with the conditions outlined above.

Customs duties, taxes, and additional import charges associated with returns are not covered.

If there are any questions before purchasing, please reach out prior to placing an order.

Nothing in this policy limits rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where applicable.
